I feel I’ve neglected this site just lately; the main reason being busyness and business.  I do have a couple of things lined up for it, but not quite finished.

In the meantime, I’ll share my music with you, and as I’m feeling midlife mellow today, that’s mellow, not yellow, green or blue, just plain old mellow – I’m listening to Corinne Bailey Rae.    She’s singing beautifully in the background whilst I tackle the accounts and the dreaded VAT.  Corinne Bailey Rae is just right for listening to today; here she is in a video singing Paris Nights / New York Mornings from her latest album “The Sea”.  Enjoy.

Will Young, The Pop Idol winner of 2002, had the best-selling single of the last decade with his double A side Anything Is Possible / Evergreen.  It was sold 1.8million times.  I hadn’t heard it for a long time until yesterday on BBC Radio 1.  It brought a tear to this midlifer’s eye I have to say – I absolutely love it.  So here is Will Young on video for all my midlife music loving friends.

Vampire Weekend is one of my favourite bands.  I don’t think there’s anything they’ve done that I don’t like.  “Cousins” is the latest single release from their second album, Contra, due out in January 2010.  Have a listen and enjoy.  And for those of you who didn’t take advantage of the free download of Vampire Weekend’s “Horchata” recently, here it is too:

I love new music, and although it could be argued that this track, Whole New Way from The Horrors,  is not exactly “new music” as it’s been out for a while, it’s very new to this midlife music follower.  I’m lucky enough to know a young man called Jonny Silcock who can always be relied upon to find the latest new music.  For any other keen midlife new music followers, you too can access Jonny’s latest finds by listening to him here: http://www.mixcloud.com/tag/chibe/

Here’s a quick pick me up for all my midlife friends.  While watching this video take three deep breaths. Relax and focus on your physical psyche. Enjoy the way you feel and believe you are strong and healthy. Self empowerment is strong within you. This is mind power. The more you watch the better you will feel.  Toe-tapping music too.  Have a fantastic “Feeling Great” day.

What a great sound.  And check out the fancy foot moves in this music video – Armand Van Helden & A-TRAK Present Duck Sauce – aNYway.  This midlifer can remember when dancing like this was the norm.  Let me know what you think of it please midlife friends.

Everyone, even my midlife friends, will be familiar with “I’m Yours” from Jason Mraz.  This track “Make It Mine” from last year’s album “We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things” may not be so familiar unless you bought the album.  I just love the instrumentals on it.

Robbie Williams kicked off the BBC’s Electric Proms last night when he played to 3,000 people at the Roundhouse in London.  He managed to put comeback nerves behind him to perform his first full concert for three years.  He sounded a little shaky to be honest during the first two songs from his new album, Reality Killed The Video Star, but then found his stride and delivered a typically confident show, mixing new material with old favourites.  Wish I could have been there; had to make do with listening to Robbie on the radio instead.  I now have the video; here he is then – with those amazingly wicked eyes and all.
